KRISTY ZIVKOVICH
Miss SNPJ 2008

Miss SNPJ 2008 Kristy Zivkovich is a lifelong member of SNPJ Lodge 158 in Euclid, Ohio. She is the daughter of Kevin and Lynn Zivkovich (158) and the granddaughter of Donald and Mildred Kovach (158), and Samuel and Margaret Zivkovich. She has one brother, Tommy Zivkovich (158).

Kristy has been an active member of Youth Circle 2 since the age of 7 and served as Circle president for three years. She has also held the offices of vice president, attendance secretary and treasurer. While a member of Circle 2, Kristy has traveled and performed at the Captain’s baseball stadium, at SNPJ Lodge 6 in Sygan, for SNPJ Westmoreland County Federation Grape Festivals, at the University of Wisconsin and recently at the Magic Kingdom in Disney World. Every Christmas time for the past six years she has sung at the Slovene Home for the Aged.

Kristy has participated in SNPJ youth bowling and bowling tournaments for seven years, including many SNPJ Youth Telegraphic, Family Twosome and Sweetheart Doubles tournaments. She has attended and entertained for countless youth holiday parties and Lodge meetings, and has volunteered numerous hours for various Lodge activities including picnics, breakfast with Santa and the Family Fun Fest. Kristy has also participated in other SNPJ functions such as bus trips, Grape Festivals, polka contests and SNPJ Days at Kennywood Park. She has helped bus tables in the dining room at the Recreation Center during Slovenefest and Octoberfest, painted grapes on the ground at the Recreation Center and helped run the children’s games during National SNPJ Days over Labor Day weekend. Kristy was a camper at Youth Roundup for two years, and was selected as a delegate to participate in the 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007 Teens Experience Leadership (TEL) Workshops. She has been an SNPJ Trailer Court member for seven years and was selected SNPJ Youth Member of the Year for 2005/2006.

Currently a senior at Mayfield High School in Mayfield Heights, Ohio, Kristy is a member of Student Council and has served as her class secretary for the past three years. As a class officer, Kristy planned this year’s junior and senior prom. She is a member of Cats Cabinet, the school newspaper, and the Homecoming and Winter Formal decorating committees. She has helped plan and participated in fund-raisers such as Harvest-4-Hunger, United Way, Mittens-4-Kids and Walk-4-Warmth. Kristy also helped run the school holiday and spring carnivals. She was on the Mayfield High School fast-pitch softball and volleyball teams for three years, and has been playing slow-pitch softball for the city of Mayfield Heights since she was 7 years old. After graduating, Kristy plans to attend a four-year college to major in business marketing.

Kristy is very honored to represent the Slovene National Benefit Society and her Lodge as Miss SNPJ 2008. Being an SNPJ member has been a huge part of her life, and she is looking forward to visiting Lodges and sharing her enthusiasm for SNPJ throughout the year of her reign.
