Scholarships

The SNPJ Scholarship Program was launched in 1960, and since that time SNPJ has awarded over $2.1 million in scholarship funds to more than 5,000 members, while donors have contributed more than $1.9 million to the SNPJ Scholarship Fund.

Eligibility

Qualified SNPJ members are eligible for tuition assistance provided they are enrolled as a full-time or part-time student in an accredited college, university or trade school. Scholarship applicants must have a minimum $5,000 of permanent SNPJ life insurance at the date of application ($2,000 if purchased prior to 1996)* and must be an SNPJ member for at least two years prior to application. Scholarships are renewable annually. Eligible applicants must provide proper scholastic data by the enrollment deadline, along with proof of participation in SNPJ-approved activities.

*The $5,000 minimum issue amount applies to all new permanent insurance policies or increases to permanent insurance amounts.

Full-time students (12+ credit hours completed) receive $400 following the end of each fall and spring semester for a total of $800 per academic year.

Part-time students (6-11 credit hours completed) receive $200 following the end of each fall and spring semester for a total of $400 per academic year.

The deadline for completed applications is August 1 each year. Scholarship recipients will be determined by the SNPJ Scholarship Committee.
