IMPERIAL, Pa. — Time is running out to enter the SNPJ Western Pa. Invitational Bowling Tournament which is being sponsored by Imperial Lodge 106. The tournament will be held the weekend of Feb. 16-17 at Paradise Lanes on Neville Island. I want to mention that unlike last year, smoking is permitted at Paradise Lanes this year. The tournament weekend will kick off Friday, Feb. 15, with three of the best polka musicians in the area. Darryl Valencic and Dave Pendel will be playing their button box accordions accompanied by Skip Tomecsko on bass. The music will run from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, will start the doubles and singles events with the first shift beginning at 9 a.m. and the second shift beginning at 1 p.m. On Saturday evening, come join us in the Lodge 106 banquet room to enjoy the music of Casanova. This band performs music from the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s. The cost per ticket is $10 and everyone is welcome. The ticket will include free draft beer and hors d’oeuvres from 5 to 7p.m. A 50/50 drawing and basket drawing are also planned. Casanova will perform from 7 to 11 p.m.
Be ready to start team bowling Sunday morning at 9 a.m.; the second shift will begin at 1 p.m. The Lodge 106 kitchen will be up and running, offering food for purchase throughout the entire weekend.
The tournament committee has booked a block of rooms at the Four Points Sheraton located on One Industry Lane. The hotel will provide a shuttle to and from Lodge 106 Saturday night until midnight. The rate for these rooms will be $59. If you are interested in reserving a room, contact the hotel at (412) 695-0002 and mention that you are with SNPJ. The rooms are going fast, so don’t delay!
