BOROUGH OF SNPJ, Pa. — Mark your calendar for Sunday, Sept. 28, for the annual baking demonstration at the SNPJ Heritage Center. The demonstration will begin around 2 p.m. Once again we have the pleasure of welcoming Vida Kosir (106) who will demonstrate one of her delightful baking recipes. She will conduct a demonstration on baking a popular old Slovenian delicacy called kremne rezine, also known as krem šnite. If you have never tasted krem šnite, you are in for a treat. It’s one of my favorites and if you’ve never had it, it will become a favorite of yours as well.

Vida usually has some samples ready to pass out, which is reason enough to attend. She does an excellent job explaining the baking process. She’ll play a video with the proper procedures and hand out printed recipes for your cookbook as well. After the demo, you’ll be able to go home and make this delicious item to the delight of your family and friends.

Don’t forget that the SNPJ Heritage Center is putting together a cookbook. We are accepting recipes until the end of the year and should have it in print by next spring. If you plan to attend the baking demonstration, bring along your recipes for our cookbook. Think about how nice it would be to see your recipe in the Heritage Center cookbook.
