The 2009 Miss SNPJ Pageant contestants and pageant committee. The 2010 Miss SNPJ Pageant will be held during Slovenefest XXVIII weekend, July 10-12, at the SNPJ Recreation Center.

IMPERIAL, Pa. — The Fraternal Department is officially opening the 2009 Miss SNPJ Pageant for contestants. This year’s pageant marks the 53rd anniversary of this time-honored Society tradition.

I extend an invitation to all eligible SNPJ young ladies to be a part of history and enter the Miss SNPJ Pageant. Contestants must be single females between the ages of 17 and 25 by Dec. 31, 2009, and an SNPJ member for at least three months. A mailing will be sent out to all female SNPJ members between the ages of 17 and 25 containing an entry form.

The pageant is scheduled July 10-12 at the SNPJ Recreation Center; these dates coincide with Slovenefest XXVIII.

The young woman who is crowned Miss SNPJ 2010 will win a $2,000 scholarship award, and an official crown, banner and trophy. Miss SNPJ will have the opportunity to travel to SNPJ functions across the country and will appear on the year 2010 SNPJ calendar. The winner of the Miss Activity title will be awarded a $1,200 scholarship award; Miss Talent will receive an $800 scholarship award. Participation in the Miss SNPJ Pageant fulfills the activity requirement for the SNPJ Scholarship program.

All young ladies who enter the pageant before June 1, 2009, will receive a special early-bird bonus of $50. In addition, all contestants who participate in the pageant will receive a $50 participant award. I’ll see you at a fraternal event soon.
