GRASS VALLEY, Calif. — On April 5, members of Golden Valley Lodge 745 attended an NBA game at Sacramento’s Arco Arena. On a warm spring evening, the Sacramento Kings hosted the Golden State Warriors. Lodge members and guests cheered on the Kings, led by Slovenian point guard Beno Udrih. Although the Kings lost to the Warriors by a score of 100-105, Lodge members were able to witness Beno score 20 points.

The most recent Lodge 745 meeting was held April 26 at the home of Matthew and Adriana Mlakar. We discussed the final plans for our spring picnic, scheduled Saturday, May 9, at Croatian Winery Dobra Zemlja (“Good Earth”) in California’s beautiful Shenandoah Valley, near the small town of Plymouth in Amador County. The picnic will begin at 1 p.m. Wine tasting, music, food and fellowship are promised. Another planned Lodge activity will take place July 18 when we participate in the Eppie’s Great Race triathlon.

During the meeting we also discussed picking a date to attend a Sacramento River Cats AAA baseball game. We enjoyed this activity last year and members have showed interest in attending another game. The Lodge is also planning a fall dance at the home of Dale and Suzi Buse in Newcastle, Calif.

The Lodge 745 up and coming events promise fun for just about anyone. We hope all Lodge members will attend and bring a friend.
