Lodge 786 plans a welcome
for newly transferred members

by JEAN KOCI, Lodge 786 Secretary/Treasurer

ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. — I’m a bit late reporting on our Jan. 17 Lodge 786 meeting. The meeting, which was very productive, was held at the home of Fred and Rosemary Mlakar in Irvine, Calif. These members are so hospitable and generous in offering their home for our gatherings. We thank you so much!

All major officers were re-elected in a vote of confidence with a few minor changes. An audit of the Youth Circle and the Lodge books took place, and everything was found to be in order. The biggest task accomplished at the meeting was making plans for 2010. We had a lot of participation from the good turnout of active members. It’s always a pleasure to have so much interest and thoughtful discussion when scheduling activities.

It was decided to hold our next meeting at a clubhouse in Laguna Woods so we could invite the many new members of our Lodge who transferred from the former Los Angeles Lodge 615. This meeting will take place Sunday, March 7, at 2 p.m. This business meeting and welcome party will be held in Clubhouse 2, Dining Room 3, through Gate 12 in Laguna Woods. Gate 12 is just north of El Toro Road on Moulton Parkway. Just turn right through the gate where the main golf course is located. Moulton Parkway is about ½ mile west of the I-5. It’s very easy to find; you don’t have to weave through neighborhood streets to find it.

This will be a potluck party. The main dish and beverages will be provided by the Lodge. Please bring an appetizer, side dish, salad or dessert to share. I’m sure there will be some music and a great deal of reminiscing going on. Remember, guests are always welcome.

If you plan to attend, we need an RSVP so that your name will be at the guard gate for entry. Please call or e-mail me by March 1. I’m really looking forward to meeting you or, in some cases, seeing you once again. We welcome all of you to Orange Coast Lodge 786 and hope you will soon become part of our active family.

Everyone should have received a welcome letter and 2010 calendar of Lodge events by now. I hope you will keep the information handy. Please contact me if you have any questions or suggestions concerning our Lodge. We’re looking forward to seeing you March 7!
