DETROIT — The annual bowling Christmas party for Young Americans Lodge 564 and Youth Circle 29 members was held Dec. 3, 2011, at Regal Lanes in Warren, Mich.

There were 12 children participating, including Gabriel and Olivia Bucciarelli; Chase, Conner and Lucas Bosek; Anthony, Joey and Jacob Volpe; Eric and Jack Anderson; and James. The parents, grandparents and Lodge members in attendance who bowled or enjoyed socializing included Ken and Dorothy Anderson, Tracy Tavalire, Ermando and Marion Volpe, Tony and Cathy Volpe, Julie and Dan Bosek, Rudy Zornik, Tom Hostnik, Bob Adamic, Beth and Barth Bucciarelli, and Steve and Holly Anderson. Young adult Justin Volpe was also in attendance. Although he’s no longer a Circle member, he bowled and looked after the children playing video games. It was an enjoyable event for all ages.

Eric Anderson is quite the little bowler, throwing a few spares and outstanding strikes. He’s a chip off the old block. Keep it up, Eric, so you can roll a big one someday.

After bowling we were served pizza and pop in the party room until our tummies were full. Of course, we left room for cookies that I donated for dessert. Each child received a bag of candy donated by Lodge 564. They also received a colorful SNPJ backpack sent from the Home Office. The adults received SNPJ gifts of hand sanitizers and mini-first aid kits. The adults and children enjoyed seeing each another and catching up on the events of 2011.

Happy 2012 to all of our friends in SNPJland!
