As a result of the current and imminent flooding disaster in the State of Illinois, some safeguards have been implemented so that you do not suffer unnecessary hardship.
Any cancellation or nonrenewal notice issued on or after June 10, 2008, on any in-force policy issued to an affected policyholder, will be withdrawn and the policy rein-stated with no lapse in coverage. In addition, no new cancellation or nonrenewal notices will be sent to any affected policyholders until August 18, 2008, or a later time if deemed reasonable given an individual’s circumstances.
Also, an extension of time is hereby granted of any and all policy provisions or other require-ments that impose a time limit for an insured or claimant to perform any act, including reporting of information or payment of funds. The extension shall be for a period of 60 days from the last date allowed or required under the terms of the contract, or allowed
or required by the insurer. |
